A black suede handbag is the staple of many wardrobes. It goes with almost everything you own. It is absolutely proper and correct for any occasion at any place. What can beat that?

Many women own more than one. After all, they come in so many different styles. Some are more durable. Some are more elegant. If you have more than one you can switch off, depending on where you are going. Or depending on how you feel.

Let me tell you my story about my first purchase of a black suede handbag. It was on a weekday, during lunchtime.

I had gone shopping for a new bag to take to a business function. I thought I would just pick out one that was very serviceable and functional. You know, one that was useful and practical.

A smart saleslady steered me to an absolutely elegant black suede handbag instead. She made an easy sale. I became devoted to suede as soon as I touched it. Forget about the ordinary. That bag was going to be a part of a new me.

I was in love with my newest possession. That handbag instantly became my new best friend. OK, that’s a bit of an exaggeration, but I’m sure to get the general idea.

Not wanting to delay my pleasure any longer than necessary, I used my new handbag on my way home after work. As chance would have it, that evening I happened to pass another handbag shop. That is when I spied my next purchase.

It was a lovely brown suede handbag that would be the perfect wardrobe companion for my earlier buy. No, I did not have any particular need for it. However, I was quickly developing an appreciation for fine things, whether I needed them or not.

Mind you, that did not mean I was going to make an immediate acquisition. I am not in a position to be buying two such fine bags in a single day. No way.

Even if I thought I might be able to stretch my budget a bit and afford the expense, I would have resisted the temptation. After all, I am able to exercise some financial restraint, at least most of the time. Actually, I might have cracked, but the store was closed.

So my black suede handbag remains my sole prize possession. Soon I will have its twin. When that day comes, my closet is going to be one very happy place.
